Ryan Barnhardt is a seasoned numismatist with over 17 years of hands-on experience at Independent Coin Graders, a trusted name in the coin grading and numismatics industry. Ryan has worked a variety of roles for the company from production staff, customer service, and software development. He is now part of our expanding grading team. Known for his precision, integrity, and deep industry knowledge, Ryan plays a key role in upholding the company’s commitment to unbiased, professional coin evaluations.
With a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Florida, Ryan brings a unique blend of scientific rigor and analytical skill to the world of numismatics. His background in pharmacy has sharpened his attention to detail, discipline, and methodical approach—qualities that translate seamlessly into the process of coin grading.
Ryan’s expertise spans with modern coins as well as US silver dollars and he is highly regarded for his ability to identify subtle details that determine grade and value. He also started ICG’s cryptocurrency program in 2018 with the help of Litecoin creator Charlie Lee.
